Four successful married women, including two showbiz personalities, who, through their professions and personal efforts are making extraordinary differences in the lives of others or the community, will represent the Philippines in international beauty pageants.

The beauty queens are actress Patricia Javier, who will be the country’s delegate to Noble Queen of the Universe 2019 in December; actress Charo Laude, Mrs Universe 2019 in China; Cheryl Fordan Villanueva, Mrs Tourism 2019 in October; and Ching delos Reyes, Mrs Plus-Size pageant, 2020.

Under the auspices of Mrs. Universe Finest Woman (MUFW), the queens were presented to the press by its national director Marilou Tolico-Villanueva during a meet-and-greet event at Dulcinea Restaurant in Quezon City Wednesday.

Marilou had represented the Philippines in Bastaapoteket Mrs Universe 2017 in Durban; and Mrs World 2017 in Johannesburg, both in South Africa.

The pageants under MUFW are organized by the Philippine Honorable Queens (PGQ) which recognizes the role of women in society by giving them awards in their chosen field.

“We also support various programs that include anti-violence on women and kids, anti-depression campaign, livelihood and seminar programs, anti-bullying, micro-entrepreneurs, among others,” said Marilou.

Javier and Laude have switched pageants for personal reasons.

“Gusto ko pong makasama ang pamilya ko sa Pasko kaya hindi na ako sumali sa Mrs. Universe. Inuna ko talaga ang family ko bago ito. Masasagasaan talaga ng Mrs Universe pageant yung Christmas kaya po nakipagpalit ako,” Javier said.

Laude, who currently stars in the top-rating Kapamilya teleserye “Kadenang Ginto,” said that it is okay for her to spend the holidays abroad.

Both Javier and Laude were also batch-mates in Binibining Pilipinas in their younger days.

Delos Reyes, a businesswoman, and Cheryl, a teacher in Makati, said that they are excited to join their respective pageants so that they can share their advocacies to the world.
